The reports of a recent survey conducted in China says that despite being the bear market of 2018 where crypto value dropped drastically, around 40% of the population in China is still interested to invest in the digital currencies.
As per the reports of 8BTC, a survey was conducted by PANews – a local news media outlet, where it is found that around 80% people are interested to buy any cryptocurrency – while 40% are interested to invest in the virtual currencies.
The report has not disclosed the procedure that was followed during the survey, but, it claims that during the survey nearly 5000 people were asked about the cryptocurrencies. The survey reports were taken from November 26 and December 10, where the reporter managed to get around 4200 legal questionnaires.
We Know About Cryptocurrency: People
This might sound untrue but around 98% people had heard about cryptocurrency and other concepts linked to cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Altcoins etc. More details analyses show that 50% of people have heard of words like cryptocurrency, digital currency, bitcoin, whereas, more than 42% have heard about blockchain technology.
However, when asked about blockchain based token, the majority of the people were blank; as only 22% have heard of such terms. Among people who have heard about blockchain technology, only 20% had detail knowledge about it, because most of them know only the surface layer.
It has also been noticed that the people who responded in the survey were more familiar with words like cryptocurrency than a term like bitcoin. People also believe that cryptocurrency is a reliable mode of investment. What more interesting fact of the reports is – only 14% of the people (who have invested in cryptocurrencies) know what is bitcoin, while rest of the majority are more familiar to altcoins like Ethereum.
More statistics of the survey show that 38% of the people have learned cryptocurrency through online celebrities and internet community, and around 26% of people have found it from their friends and family.
The survey reports further tell us that 63.43% of people don’t want to use cryptocurrencies as a mode of payment – as they are more dependent on platforms like WeChat Pay and Alipay due to their convenience.
