The First Annual “If Only’ Texas Hold’Em Charity Poker Tournament,” was organised by cancer and diabetes research and treatment center in Los Angeles, dated 29th July 2018. The event witnessed the presence of a number of American celebrities, including Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian who hosted tables at the event.
While the tournament was still in action, Matthew Roszak, a tech entrepreneur and digital currency educator, presented Kim Kardashian with her ‘first ever’ Bitcoin.
Matthew, the co-founder of Bloq and other cryptocurrency initiatives, holds a view that Kim may help bringing more users to Bitcoin. The major cause behind this view is the 114 million fan following of the ‘social media amazon’. Not only Matthew, but a lot of general public view Kardashian as a ‘potential catalyst for cryptocurrency.’
Roszak came up with the topic at the ‘San Francisco Tedx Meet,’ a conference that wraps up technology, entertainment and design as the major topics. He mentioned that the ‘Kardashian fans’ can tokenize and lead to the evolution of a new economy. Additionally, he presented an image of the ‘Kardashian token’ and said:
“Every brand, every artist, every tribe, can tokenize their economy,”
Towards the end of 2018, both Jenner and Kardashian, have plans to launch an episode of ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians,’ based on ‘token’ received by Kim. The episode would be intended towards growing consciousness regarding the ‘charitable cause’ in the minds of the people. In addition to the cause, it would also promote the idea of cryptocurrency as well.
Kim Kardashian was more than obliged to receive this gift. She immediately took to Instagram and shared this ‘historic moment’ with her gigantic fan following. She wrote,
“We’ve moved onto Bitcoin!”
Also, a similar announcement of the event was made by Matthew. His tweet read,
“Big fun at the First Annual @cityofhope Charity Poker Tournament — also gave @KimKardashian her very first #bitcoin — KardashianCoin, YeezyCoin?”
