This partnership would allow the cryptocurrency users to integrate their addresses to top-level domain name, simplifying to remember the identifiers associated with their assets, wallets and services.
As announced on 3rd August, Ethereum users would soon be able to register with MMX’s top-notch domain .luxe. Users would be able to make use of services like, access to the Ethereum Blockchain, decentralised applications (DApps), and smart contracts, integrated with .luxe, which stands for “lets u xchange easily,” zone.
Users will also be able to make a choice between the available “user-friendly” domain names, carrying an additional feature of identifying an individual’s crypto assets rather than the conventional 40 character identifiers.
The domain name would also let users perform “traditional internet activity” through the same address as used in Ethereum assets and services.
Toby Hall, the chief executive officer of MMX states that the company is dedicated to work along ICANN and other leading technology partners ensuring the domain names are relevant to entrepreneurs, developers, and other users. He also stated that the company looks forward to work with ENS to enable .eth registrants to have a similar .luxe domain name before the extension goes on for a sale among the public.
Lead developer of ENS, Nick Johnson said that the platform is also excited to step ahead and integrate the DNS name services and the ENS helping to improve the usability for blockchain applications and users.
He also stated that .luxe domain extension will offer “more choices of domain of trust model” to the cryptocurrency users and the partnership would help in improving integration “between the legacy DNS and blockchain technologies.”
Released in 2017, ENS is an “automated registrar” that helps Ethereum users to replace long addresses by registering domain names with “.eth” extension through an auction.
The company expects to launch the extension for sale to the public from 30th October.
