The crypto exchange firm Coinbase has announced that they are going to add Ethereum Classic (ETC) on their Coinbase Wallet. The news came out on Tuesday, with an addition that Coinbase Wallet is now able to support Ethereum (ETH), as well as Ethereum Classic (ETC). As of now, more than 100,000 ERC20 tokens have been developed on the Ethereum Blockchain.

The product lead at Coinbase, Siddharth Coelho-Prabhu, said that Coinbase wallet will be refreshed within a few days. After the update, the customers will be able to see their balances in Ethereum Classic and it will be easy to send and receive Ethereum Classic (ETC) from the wallet itself. Siddharth said:

“As part of our mission to be the easiest and most trusted crypto wallet, we plan to add support for even more blockchains in the future.”

Coinbase Wallet and Features

The ETC address of the existing Coinbase Wallet users will be the same as that of their current Ethereum address. Even if they receive any ETC on their ETH addresses before, now it will be showcased in their Coinbase wallet.

The wallet has updated itself with a new look. With this new interface, users will be able to check the portfolio of their coin balances in their local fiat currency. The tokens – ERC20 will also be added to the Coinbase Wallet. Thus, it will remove the pitfalls of adding separate token manually.

Not just this but the Coinbase Wallet has also partnered with RareBits and OpenSea in order to develop new gallery for the customers to see tier collectibles right within their wallet. The new application also has significant improvements which enhance the stability of the wallet.

Ethereum Classic and Coinbase

After a lot of thoughts, in August, Ethereum Classic (ETC) had finally made into Coinbase. Initially, it appeared on Coinbase Pro – a platform for retail users and a part of Coinbase. The other part of Coinbase is Coinbase Prime, which is a platform for institutional customers.

Ethereum has survived many up and downs of the crypto market, as the prices decreased since the listing. As of now, ETH is trading at $4.30, with Market Capitalization of $456.96
