Cryptocurrencies are increasingly gaining acceptance and their stance around the globe. Kenya, an extraordinarily beautiful country is one of the most modern and tech-savvy countries. Betty’s place, a restaurant situated amongst the picturesque landscapes of Mount Kenya in a rural town called Nyeri, just 90 miles away from Nairobi allows its customers to make payments using Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. It accepts payment in bitcoin and dash by the customers willing to pay using cryptocurrencies.

The local restaurant is very famous for its dish ‘nyama choma,’ it is basically a goat meat barbeque.  It has adapted to the fast pacing world of digital currencies.

The owner of the restaurant, Ms. Wambugu gives her opinion and views on the facility availed by her by saying that she attracts customers from different parts of the world owning different coins. She continues by saying that all coins are accepted in the restaurant as long as they are viable. “Since the world is becoming more global, my place is also becoming a global restaurant,” she adds.

She was introduced to bitcoin years back and within two years she has earned enough through it to get a two-floored restaurant, Betty’s Place. Her interest in bitcoin is extremely wide. She also conducts classes at her restaurant to educate the alienated individuals about the concept of bitcoin and cryptocurrency. She schedules these tutorials every Sunday at her restaurant. She believes that the future is digital currency and cryptocurrency, hence she is open to such adaptations.

It is quite a rare and astonishing sight to see local restaurants located in Kenya to accept payments using cryptocurrencies. Such instances are giving more hopes to the evolving world of cryptocurrency and how it is going to gain more recognition and acceptance in the future because of its evolving technology.
