Billionaire Stanley Druckenmiller reasons some type of crypto-derived ledger system might substitute the U.S. dollar as the world’s reserve currency in the future.
Stanley Druckenmiller Billionaire hedge fund manager has predicted the option of a crypto-derived book system overtaking the U.S. dollar as a worldwide reserve currency.
The hedge fund boss renowned that if there were to be a U.S. dollar spare it “would be some type of ledger system invented by approximate kids from MIT or Stanford or some other engineering school that has not even occurred hitherto, that can substitute the dollar universal.”
He made the commentaries in an interview with CNBC’s Squawk Box. Druckenmiller renowned that crypto is frequently promoted as a hedge in contradiction of inflation, which has become more pertinent of late:
‘Well, you perhaps do not recall this joke, but 5 or 6 years ago, I held that that crypto was a solution in search of a problem. & that is why I did not play crypto the 1st wave because we previously have the dollar. What do we necessity to looking for?’
But he died on to add that continuing financial incentive was an issue: “Well, the problem has been identified. It’s Jerome Powell & the break of the world, central bankers. Trust is absent. So, sort of groping for an answer for a dominant case.”
Druckenmiller supposedly invested in BTC previous this year & told Squawk Box that it is improbable that he trusts its Bitcoin will be usurped by other cryptocurrencies as the highest store of worth asset:
‘It is going to be very tough to unseat BTC, as a store of worth asset, since it has a fourteen-year-old brand, it is been around long sufficient, & clearly, there’s a finite supply.’
Druckenmiller was renowned that while ETH is leading the way when it comes to building smart contracts, he does not see it controlling ordinary transactions. He trusts that the succeeding generation of designers is likely to recover on current blockchain technology leaving current solutions behindhand.
‘The quality of the competition that is going to come in contradiction of the officials in this space is going to be brutal,’ he said. “That’s why I think it’s just too initial to call who is successful to be the winner when it comes to the payment system, commerce, that kind of stuff.”
Druckenmiller does not see other fiat currencies taking over from USD though because “Europe is a whole mess,” & “Who’s successful to trust the Chinese?”
